In the past week I've returned to the land of tea and snow. Yes, it's actually snowing in April. I didn't think that was possible either but here we are. I've been doing a lot of work things recently where I have to dress in a slightly acceptable manner which is why you have the joy of a work edit for this month. I seem to have found a new love for casual work outfits with new shirts, blazers and culottes gracing my wardrobe. Below the brand Free People makes an appearance with the First Kiss Dress being one of my favourites. Be sure to check this one out as the website has a variety of colours to choose from. Also is anyone else digging Topshops new mint haired model?

Embroidered Satin Bomber Jackets / The Fashion Week Aftermath

Although I don't entirely follow Fashion Week, in any of the countries, there has been one trend that somehow caught my attention, the embroidered satin bomber jacket. Interestingly enough the trend appeared most recently in both the Spring/Summer Saint Laurent show and Spring/Summer Louis Vuitton show as menswear, however women have adopted the trend with countless examples from Fashion Weeks street style.The great thing about these jackets are that they're a power piece to any outfit, it takes worn jeans and a white t-shirt to a completely new level.

At the beginning of 2016 Kate Moss stepped out in a camouflaged jumpsuit, oil slick platform boots and of course a baby pink and grey satin bomber. A month or so before Rosie Huntington-Whiteley was seen in a satin green quilted bomber jacket. Clearly the trend has come a long way from the 60's when the jacket was first worn in fashion by skinheads and mods as an alternative to the Harrington jacket.

After checking out a Scotch and Soda store I found a baby pink satin jacket embroidered with Japanese style florals, a la Pink Ladies from Grease. It caught my attention as I haven't seen the bowling alley kind of jacket look used in fashion before. Unfortunately since I haven't been able to find another one like it, and peculiarly enough the whole satin bomber trend doesn't seem to have caught on too much with mainstream brands. Searching for an embroidered bomber on the Topshop website will show only one result, while doing the same on ASOS will provide a male alternative. A casual browse in General Pants Co. and I found a black dragon embroidered bomber, probably the only one I've seen since my Scotch and Soda rummage. C'mon fashion buyers, the demand is there, what're you waiting for?

February Picks

I don't know what the weather is like in the rest of the world but currently Australia, especially Sydney, is experiencing a heat wave, with temperatures hitting 40°C+, the hottest days on record for this time of year. Naturally this means that a beach edit seems wonderfully fitting as Summer goes out with a bang.

This month there are featured clothing from Topshop, ASOS, Lavish Alice, River Island and Urban Outfitters. Trends I have recently come across are the high necked bikinis, shoulder-less or off-the-shoulder cuts and satin bomber jackets a la biker chic, not school boy jock.

Another ASOS sale has been and gone. So now that we've stocked up on all the goodies we could, who's ready to check out the new arrivals?

Let me introduce you to Oysho. I first discovered this brand when reading a blog post entitles 'What Activewear Would Look Like If Zara Designed It' or something roughly along those lines. I can definitely see where they're coming from. With a huge range of stylish gym pieces to wear when running, dancing or boxing they have all their bases covered. Not only this they have a beach section to cater t every Australians needs. It might not be Summer, but it doesn't mean we can't prepare ourselves early!

Guess Black Skater Dress

I'm not usually one to wear going out dresses, regardless if it's a big event or just a boozy night in a bar. That is until I was gifted this pretty little number. Guess has really created a dress to be proud of, taking the simple skater style and making it edgy by adding back cut-outs and mesh.

ASOS Monochrome Cape

How can you say no to a garment that makes it perfectly acceptable to wear a blanket outside? That's right, you can't. Possibly the best creation to ever grace a woman's wardrobe the ASOS cape was definitely a must-buy for me. In a city like Sydney in Winter chilly dry days are nothing surprising and sometimes you just need to throw something comfy on.

ASOS Floral Print Kimono

It's taken me ages to finally find a the perfect kimono. Just something to throw on when I get out of bed instead of having to pull on leggings and a top in an attempt to not traumatize my housemates. Although I originally swayed towards the horrifically priced Agent Provocateur options (I'm a sucker for lace) I came across this bright floral print by ASOS. It just sceams beach holiday doesn't it?

ASOS Runner Shorts

I'd bought these as I'd taken an interest in a beginners pole dancing class and I was determined to get kitted out. Unfortunately the class never happened, but luckily the purchases did (whoops). I love how these are versatile enough to wear lazily in the house as well as out and about AND of course to the gym.

ASOS Longline T-Shirt Dress

The physical embodiment of casual, intoducing the ultimate t-shirt dress. For someone who doesn't like dresses this is pretty much a goldmine. Without the long term commitment of uncomfortable waists and short skirts this dress can be worn with sneakers and heels alike. Layer to your hearts content or wear on it's own on a warm day.

Boohoo Knitted Stripe Crop

I have a bit of a love/hate relationship when it comes to crop tops. Although I adore the high neck, sleeveless designs they look terrible worn with pretty much any bra except for a stick on one. On a day to day basis they lack the kind of support I want.

June Picks

Notice the difference? I've been experimenting lately with the layout of my blog which you may or may not have noticed. Part of the revamp is to create more visually appealing images that are efficient in terms of blog space. Yes that's right, no more mile long posts of over sized clothing images. Phew.

This month one of my favourite shoe brands makes an appearance; Public Desire, a UK based company with some really killer styles. Another absolute beauty of a brand I've recently stumbled across is The Jetset Diaries, seen in the vibrant blue dress below. They're honestly well worth checking out, I promise! Imagine luxury travel jetsetter come Bali beach bum. Flook is also a brand to watch with tons of lazy beach styles, perfect for the coming Summer months.

How The Eyelash Lace Trend Is Winning Our Hearts

I've been sick as a dog lately, which is a damn shame considering so much has been going on that I've been itching to write about. With my birthday just recently passed I have a ton of new products to show you, so get ready for that! Here are some items I've been lusting after and I think this might be my favourite 'picks' post yet.

Now this dress is something to behold. After being on the site for just a few days it's already low in stock, and the price has risen about $10 since it's release (due to it's popularity me thinks?) I fell in love with it straight away and regret not jumping on the chance to purchase it when the sale was on. The asymmetric hem and fall of the dress gives it a Grecian style while remaining modern in khaki.

Although down here in the Southern hemisphere we're drifting into Autumn everywhere else gets to welcome Spring, and with Spring comes light, floating dresses and soft colours. A kimono is a classic piece for any Spring Child's wardrobe, versatile for anytime day wear and a key for festivals. Ditch the garish colours this year and head for the lightly oriental styles with this off-white and china blue match.

I don't quite understand the culotte trend and to be honest I hadn't heard of the garment until a short while ago. Although I'm incredibly thankful for it's arrival as I've been stuck with the choice of shorts or skinny jeans on sunny days, neither of which I'm thrilled about. Culottes are perfect for those days you want to cover up but not sweat your ass off. Another thing I learnt is that culottes are fantastic for petite girls, yipee! Opt for the ones that hang just under your knees in a block colour, but obviously have fun with it.

One of the few things that gets me motivated to workout is buying gym gear. I heard from a fellow blogger that Oysho do some pretty chic and well-made gym wear. A bit of a sneak peak later and I've added a ton more items to my wishlist, dammit. Sometimes you just want some amazing leggings right? But without the shitty galaxy print or boring monotone colours. Vibrant green palm tree leaves should do the trick and remind you what you're working out for.

In my March Picks post I had a couple of duster coats floating about, as you can see here nothing has changed, I'm still swooning after the Kylie Jenner staple. My recent searches have found me another petite beauty, the stone coloured long duster from ASOS. Being petite I often worry about, well, looking short ironically. Although you'd assume a longer coast wouldn't suit a smaller size finding the right fit can do wonders.

Vertical stripes are great for elongating the body, the problem is at the moment horizontal lines are on trend, not very forgiving for those not blessed with Rhianna's legs, or body for that matter. However this drop back sun dress is perfect for those scorching days at the beach. With adjustable halter neck straps you needn't worry about the fit, any hey, here for once is a short dress that looks, and stays damn well short.

Hey look, a bag big enough for your purse, phone, laptop, diary, folder, lunch, make-up and anything else you're bound to carry. I have a love/hate relationship with handbags, primarily due to their impractical designs, you'll never catch me in the classic Gucci's. Check this one out, it has incredible storage space without looking clunky on your body. And the pure black leather design keeps it bang on trend.

Ahh, I am in love. I'm not normally a body hugging dress kind of person, or a mini dress person, or a floral person, but I'm glad it's this one, if any, that blew my judgements out of the water. The perfect formal wear dress it's suitable for dinners, weddings and prom (don't steal my idea). It's made of lightweight silky fabric and an open back, hello Spring. What else can be said?

It's been a while before I've seen a gym bag I like, one that looks strong enough to carry everything, not one of those drawstrings pieces of crap. Oysho is back again with the only bag you'll ever need for working out. You'll probably find yourself taking it everywhere, on weekends, sleepovers or even to work if you have a big day. As I saw one blogger write; this is what gym wear would look like if Zara designed some.

We see all kind of hair on fashion bloggers, from natural tones to some of the more wacky (but strangely classy) platinum shades. However Zoe clearly blows them out of the water with her electric blue. She's not just a fashion blogger (whoever is?), she also writes about travel, her lifestyle, beauty, food, and seen as she's a super cool DJ music as well.

Let me introduce you to Amy, the brain behind the fabulously comfy blog The Little Magpie. I have a soft spot in my heart for this one, as being born in Scotland and having a fashion blogger prance about in the beautiful city of Edinburgh I can't help but get a pang of nostalgia with every post. On first glance you can tell she's a creative, with somewhat unique, but definitely wearable outfits fashion inspiration will hit you from all angles.

Ahhh Victoria, possibly one of my favourite bloggers of all time, and I'm sure plenty of other peoples too. Not only is this beautiful lady setting the bar for fashion bloggers everywhere with her impeccable style she is also highly intelligent, with a PhD and background as a fashion lecturer.

Lily Melrose

She is probably the first fashion blogger I actually ever came across and consciously knew that there were people out there that actually did this as a hardcore hobby. I found her in the days of the long ombred hairstyle clipped back behind the head and I remember thinking how awesome her hair was. That being a good two or so years ago now you can definitely see how her style has inevitably evolved.
