Over the Knee Boots: A Virgins Guide

Over The Knee Boots A Virgins Guide

Good news ladies, over the knee boots have hit a new height in popularity and the best part? They’re one of the most versatile boots around. With almost every celebrity under the sun rocking this trend from Rihanna to Kylie Jenner it’s no surprise we want to be part of the fun. Sexy, casual, classy there's endless options for your wardrobe. So throw on your cape because these boots are hitting hard this Winter!

Petite
The age old rule applies here. If you’re of a short and slim build heels are preferable to give you that extra height. But don’t worry you don’t have to go all out Rhiannah-esque stiletto heel, wedges and the chunky heel will work wonders for you too. Try to avoid embellishments and stick to a block colour as to not break up your leg. The over the knee style will elongate your legs as well as pairing them with jeans of the same colour.

Tall
If you’re tall there’s no need to totter around on a sky high heel. Flat boots or a slight heel will keep your legs looking long and slim without the discomfort. Slouch boots are your saviour as they add more depth to the ankle area flattering your shape. You’re lucky in that you can play about with colours, embellishments and lengths without too much hassle or blowing your figure out o the water.

Plus
Over the knee boots come in a large range of wide fit options. Although finding what will fit comfortably without trying them on is difficult for any shape refer to the size guide. You should be able to fit two or three fingers between your skin and the boot when worn to avoid being uncomfortable and so that you avoid the dreaded muffin-top. Lace-up and pull-on stretch boots will allow you to change the size giving you the best chance of finding the perfect fit.

Inspiration
My all time favourite look with over the knee boots has to be pairing them with a slouchy jumper dress.

A side split skirt and crop top will do wonders for making knee high boots casual. Covering them up will make them wearable in most situations with a sexy exposure ever now and then.

All black errythang. Now I'm aware she's not wearing boots here and they are in fact knee high socks but if she were it would (and is) an amazing outfit.
