Palm Beach Photo Diary, Australia

Australia's East Coast is well known for it's idyllic beaches of crystal clear water and exotic fauna (well, to the typical Briton). Within Sydney city Bondi or Manly are praised as being some of the best beaches around, but if you're sick of the over-saturated mess of shops and restaurants then an hour from the city to Palm Beach may be your answer. Well know for it's appearances in Home and Away it's lesser known as one of the least commercialized beaches around the city with only one store selling surf gear and two cafes. The Barrenjoey Lighthouse hike is a popular walk from the beach up a general incline beholding some amazing views.

If you're traveling to Palm Beach from Sydney then you're most likely going to hit traffic, no matter what date or time you attempt to go. When driving yourself the trip will take roughly an hour but an hour and a half by public transport. The L90 bus leaves Sydney every half an hour. From Ettalong and Umina (up North) there is a boat that takes you to Palm Beach Wharf in roughly 25 minutes at the price of $22 return. From there you'll have to take a bus or walk to the main beach.
